Picking a drapery treatment

When it comes to picking out the drapery treatments you have three things to consider; you personal preferences, what would fit the look and feel of the room they will be going in, and what will actually fit the window they are purchased for. If the drapery treatments you are considering don’t fit under all three parameters, you will most likely be unhappy with them. Luckily there are so many styles to choose from that you are sure to find one that will make you happy. The first thing to consider is the style you’re looking for. Do you want them set on a rod held in place by bands? Do you want multiple rods so that you have a couple of drapes on the windows café style? Perhaps one that closes out from the inside or one that closes in from the outside and is split into two parts, which is the standard. Do you want tabs at the top or frills? Once you have the style chosen you’ll want to pick the color. Color typically will have more to do with the room than the window. You’ll want to make sure whatever color scheme your room has stays consistent through the drapes. This means you might want a floral pattern, or maybe a simple two color piece. You might want a solid color drape or ones that have many colors worked into their pattern. Is the color to flashy? Is it subtle? Make sure that the color fits the style you chose and you’ll be happy with your drapery.
